| Gerry
& Johnson Optometrists offer in-school Vision Screening
visits. Our screenings provide teachers and parents
with a summary of a child’s visual skills for
learning, and if further action is required we can advise
you of the best path to take. These
screenings can be arranged by contacting our optometrists,
either Kate Johnson or Vijay Mistry.
We visit your school and screen 12-15
children per hour for:
- Blurred vision
- Colour vision deficiency
- Convergence insufficiency and other eye coordination
problems
Results are given to a coordinating teacher who can
then generate a report for the parents of each child.
The process can also include:
- A presentation to teachers
- A talk to parents to describe vision-based learning
difficulties (VBLD) and provide them with the vision
training (eye exercises) for convergence insufficiency.
- A follow up / review visit for children doing vision
training.
If you are interested in organising a vision screening,
or would just like some more information, please don't
hesitate to contact our optometrists
